Late at night I'll write

I feel that it's important to tell you that I will be back to blogging more regularly soon. I feel that otherwise, you'll never come and visit me - and that would be sad. There are many deep thoughts I would like to verbalise, and bloggin seems the perfect medium - but I don't have the time!!

So this is the equivalent of that girl with the easel on Channel 4 in the middle of the night (google's never heard of her - bah!). There's good stuff coming, just be patient.

What am I writing? This isn't the lucie show....

Sorry

I haven't blogged for a while. I've been seriously put off by 20six's revamp, which although I'm sure is noble and good - seems to be to be a bad thing. Remind me again why this is better??

Anyway. I will try and get over the layout teething problems to blog anyway. At the moment it's all about trying to get a header image in there. Sheesh!

Off to Edinburgh tomorrow for tea and philosophy.

'Generation Sex' by the Divine Comedy - What a great song

Generation sex
Respects
The rights
Of girls
Who want to take their clothes off
As long as we can all watch that's okay
And generation sex
Elects
The type
Of guys
You wouldn't leave your kids with
And shouts off with their heads if they get laid

Lovers watch their backs
As hacks
In macs
Take snaps
Through telephoto lenses
Chase Mercedes Benzes through the night
A mourning nation weeps
And wails
But keeps
The sales
Of evil tabloids healthy
The poor protect the wealthy in this world
Generation sex
Injects
The sperm
Of worms
Into the eggs of field mice
So you can look real nice for the boys

And generation sex
Is me
And you
And we
Should really all know better

BOAST

Last Sunday I said that we should boast more about God, because 'the afflicted will hear and rejoice' (Ps 34). And so when I was having dinner with the wonderful John and Maria on Wednesday they did some boasting of the way that God had provided for them recently.

I was 'afflicted' only inasmuch as I need money, a house and a car for next year. So having been encouraged, the next day I began to ask God to provide for all my needs, and particularly a spacious, affordable, NICE 4 bedroomed house for next year. The next day we found the house. The day after that I was sent some cash. The day after that someone mentioned they had a car they wanted to sell me.

HA! I WILL EXTOL THE LORD AT ALL TIMES...MY SOUL WILL BOAST IN THE LORD. LET THE AFFLICTED HEAR AND REJOICE!

Funny thing is. I've also been thinking about that passage, 'My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever' (Ps 73:26). Truth is, if he didn't provide, HE would be my home.

Soft rippled mango sunlight dances on the path next to the grass. Sunrise shadows fall dappled through the stretching trees and quiver on the lawn. The day is still and unwritten, and this is the hour of creation’s glory....undisturbed by the selfish and the madmen. It is tangerine and dewtouched.
